It has been well known for decades that planet Earth is threatened into a first class catastrophe if human beings continue to claim too much natural spaces for themselves, causing the planet's balance to become out of balance. For years now, the summer months have been marked by record heat, and the term "flood of the century" is being used more and more frequently by politicians and the media. Heat, cold, water or snow are then hold to be responsible for the damage of lives of the human beings. But the human beings themselves have opened the floodgates to destroy their own existence. A river naturally overflows its banks when human beings give rivers too little space in their riverbed, when floodplains become building sites, when moors disappear. These dangerous situations can also be observed at the last free-flowing rivers in Central Europe, when the Fella River in the Italian Val Canale is blocked by a dam and a small power station to regulate the flow of water. The Fella River ends up into the Tagliamento River, the now last remaining free-flowing Alpine river, which still has the characteristics that all rivers in Central Europe and the Alps originally had, an extensive riverbed with branching channels and gravel fields, so that the Tagliamento River is still able to regulate any flooding itself today without endangering people or nature. In 1972, the Club of Rome published the study "The Limits to Growth", and in 1977 US President Jimmy Carter commissioned the environmental study "Global 2000". A number of serious ecological movements emerged, which also warned of the dangers of nuclear power. Al Gore, Nobel Peace Prize winner like Jimmy Carter, equates environmental crimes like moral war crimes. And war is the very first driving force behind the destruction of the environment and nature and the basis of life. In current times some green movements changed to political parties have come to power in governments in several countries, but it looks like that their initiatives to preserve a world worth to live are gone with the wind. These political greens are now themselves committed to war and have finally withered into brown leaves.
